After about a week of cutting out all sugar and carbs, as well as all vegetables, I no longer feel tired during the day. I have been eating between 2000 and 2400 calories a day of meat, eggs, and dairy only. I haven't seen any dramatic weight loss yet, but it has only been a week. At the very least, I feel good, and I have plenty of energy. I'm going to start a mild exercise regimen tomorrow, so this may help burn a few extra calories.
