In your shoes, I'd keep the vodka and push the soda out of my life forever. Soda has no good reason to be included in your food plan. At least vodka gives you a feeling of wellbeing. You can quit that later if you want. Good on you for washing dishes and being nice to hubby!

Way to go! Would it help to also have a list of "3 things I need to do better today"? (Note, NOT things I did wrong!! The point is not criticism, but to give you a goal to work toward. Similar to planning your menus ahead of time.") Good luck!

@Jen, goes without saying that you know you're in deep trouble, and you know this, or should know this, and it doesn't end well I'm afraid. If 16oz of Vodka is your normal amount, you're an alcoholic. If that is not your normal amount, you should definitely look to cut out the alcohol, as you're not losing weight successfully while drinking it. Type II Diabetes, High Cholesterol, and Fatty Liver Disease are all present in your life right now. Being concerned with "Calorie Counting" is trying to game the system as the saying goes, however, the house always wins, and in this case, you will lose. Good Luck, reach to people for help and advice.

It was very hard to come up with 3 things I did right. Easy to come up with 3 things I want to do right. (I didn't know journal entries were public, I'm a little embarrassed, but thank you for the support!) The thing with Mike (my husband) is we are really in bad shape as a couple. It's difficult for me to speak to him at all, so this small thing was really a much bigger thing than it sounds like. Him DOING it was a big thing.

For better or worse, journals are public...but you can change your settings to keep them private. It's a difficult thing to admit that as a couple you're not where you need to be and really needs some help, again...wish you good luck.

Welcome, Jen! Lots of people here have had great success. Day one, and you're off to the races. It's going to be quite a journey, but you can do this! And only you can do this, so you WILL do this! As for me, I find that when I drink, the food calories sneak right up on tipsy me, and I eat way too much. The alcohol always costs me more calories than it says on the bottle. Good luck to you, Jen!

In settings, you can set your journal, weight, food diary to private or buddies only. To be honest, most of the feedback and support on here is from people commenting on each other's journals.

Perhaps it was providential that your post wasn't private...none of us would have known that you are needing support. No need for embarrassment, know that we are all here cheering you on and offering any advice/counsel we think might help you along. Transparency helps to clearly see any blind spots and tackle them!! Stick with us! :)

Hi Jen, Congratulations on starting!
I love your right things list. I'm going to start doing that, instead of beating my self up at the end of the day for what I did wrong or what I didn't do.
keep checking in!
