just checking in to prove to myself that i am still here and haven't quit despite my recent yearning to stop tracking exercise and food. i do know better. sugar takes front and center again this month as i'm working on banishing it from my intake. wishing all a happy, healthy day. "best advice i ever got was an old friend of mine, a black friend, who said you have to go the way your blood beats. if you don't live the only life you have, you won't live some other life, you won't life any life at all. that's the only advice you can give anybody. and it's not advice, it's an observation." - james baldwin, writer

That is a pretty astute observation. I'm kind of right there where you are too.. but sticking it out as if I dont all my progress will go down the drain. Hope you have a happy healthy day as well.

I'm still tracking my exercise and diet but not always on here as I am trying to fix some dietary problems from micronutrients and I am doing a challenge. I still socialize on here. I like the people here. I have to track my food somewhere. I have to exercise. I won't make it if I don't.

Morticia, do you recommend any particular alternative app over another for tracking your food and exercise? Just wondering if you had found one that works particularly well for you? I might be interested in trying a free version if there were any that stood out to you as worthwhile. I wont make it if I dont log either. Ive got to have accountability, but I feel the same, I like the people here.

Maybe try removing one thing at a time? Starting this week I’m not adding sugar to my coffee. I’ll miss it for sure.

If it helps any, I stopped eating sugar in February and I rarely use sugar substitutes. I still crave sweet foods but now my taste buds register so many foods as sweet. Plain yogurt, plain oatmeal, granny Smith apples, unsweetened berries, and so on. Half and half or cream makes my coffee sweet without anything else. I'm not deprived like I thought I'd be. It's totally worth giving up sugar because I have so much less inflammation.
