Hi Kathy - welcome!! I really get the gaining weight struggle; my girlfriend has been struggling with this issue for the 30 years that I've known her! She kept her best highest weight when she ate 6 small meals a day and got rid of all the junk food. No cookies, cakes, instant/cold cereals, chips, pop AND commercially prepared foods. Hard to believe that it's the exact same process as it is for those of us who want to lose weight!! It's So easy to come home from work, pop a Michelina's into the microwave, grab the bag of chips, a pop and call it a day...it's oooh so easy! LoL Believe me....we all have been there!! It's quite a shock to our routine, our habits, our brain and our systems to go back to the cooking 101 basics!! We have to learn/force ourselves to shop differently, to cook differently and to eat differently. The struggle is real but sooo worth it in the end, our bodies and health will be forever grateful! ~* You Got This! *~

I know I’m a bit late to this post but if you want to gain weight the simple answer is eat more calories then you burn, a calorie is a calorie, but if you want to gain more muscle then fat then you want eat more protein and workout with that but the best way is to calculate your bmr, then follow that guideline

Nutrient dense foods such as sunflower seeds etc are great to snack on to gain weight and are a great source of nutrition as well!

I need to lose 50 lbs and have a family member who needs to gain 15. It s the same struggle. She eats like a bird, so now she is eating 8 to 10 small meals a day. Its the only way she can increase her calories. Really focus on the protein intake so that the weight gain is healthy. Adding protein power to anything you can is helping her. She gained 2 lbs in 8 weeks, and feels confident she can up her goal to 2 lbs more next month. Set small goals, and celebrate with us when you acheive them!
