mandabear65's Journal, 05 Nov 15

I'm feeling as if I'm in control at the moment. I go to the obesity clinic on Monday 16th November so I'll record my weight when I come back. I don't feel that I can trust my scales as they say something completely different each time I step on them!
There's one thing I'm interested to find the answer to though. I had been drinking diet lilt to curb the sweet craving, however,my dentist told me not to drink it as it's bad for my teeth. I stopped drinking it for a couple of weeks then I thought," this is silly, I've cut out so many foods as they're bad for me ,that there's nothing satisfying left. So...I've bought some more but I'm aiming to drink only one can a day and only with a meal. I wonder if this is the cause of my loose clothes and if I'll expand again now I've started drinking diet lilt again? watch this space!

my wife is in dental industry and she like your dentist agrees that most diet drinks are bad for your teeth due to the sweetners the use to replace the sugar.

Swedish study published this week found that diet coke is the same as regular coke in raising your chance of heart disease by 25%. It isn't all just about calories.

They reckon that you should drink before or after a meal, not with it. When they measure what we consume, if it is washed down by a drink, not only do you add calories for that but we pack 25-33% more down our necks too. It washes it down too quickly & doesn't register.

wow ! I had no idea. It just goes to show how much hype is used by the food/drink industry to make us believe that diet drinks are ok for us ,thanks for the comments. Should I stop drinking diet drinks and stick with water ?

well, I went to the obesity clinic on Monday and the dietician was really pleased. I lost 7lb ! that was in 7 weeks but its good for me! she looked at my food intake and used the word perfect many times(excuse me whilst I shine my halo) and said I was eating a healthy balanced diet. At last I'm in the 16 ,actually half way through the 16 s.I go back to the clinic in 8 1/2 weeks so hopefully Ill lose 8 lb and be in the 15s for the first time in years!.
