First day of the 12 weeks went really well! A co-worker invited me out with her friends last night for dinner and drinks. I went even though I knew there was a chance of deviating from my training plan/schedule. I'm pretty proud of myself though. I ordered grilled chicken tenders with buffalo sauce and it also came with fruit. I did get a drink but only one, and when I got home I ran 3 miles.

After 7 months of trying to stick to this way of eating and exercising, might I finally have gotten it?? It does seem easier. And I'm noticing differences too that make me want to stick to it. My nails are stronger, my skin looks better, no period cramps!, and my whole body is getting toned (even though the scale hasn't budged).

If only I would've known the countless times I've tried dieting before,... it takes time. And diets don't work, a change in the way you eat works! I think those are the two best pieces of advice that everybody needs to understand. There are so many times I've given up after a month because I didn't notice anything different. Maybe not on the outside yet, but I'm sure there were changes on the inside, and actually I know this for a fact because I've been able to improve my cholesterol. It just takes time to see changes in muscle tone because it takes a lot of work to lose the fat that's covering up those awesome muscles! I could go on... I'm just so excited to see the changes after these next 12 weeks! And if I can run my half marathon under 2 hours this time!
