Note to self (and anyone aching for more protein): Ham. Apparently deli-sliced ham has 30 calories per ounce... and 4.5g of protein. Which is actually better for you than eggs. I seriously wish I knew that ages ago. Oh well, pork chops are thawing and will be cooked up for future rice bowls! 😋

I wouldn't remotely call highly processed deli ham better for you than eggs. maybe the calorie to protein ratio is closer to what your looking for but certainly not healthier

The calorie to protein ratio is what I've been struggling with. I'm literally getting about 1/3 of my recommended protein as it stands, so I'm thinking lean pork cuts might actually be the way to go! Heck, even ground pork might be nifty... maybe a good meatloaf is in order. lol

Cyrus, lean pork is way better than deli ham because you can control the sodium.

Nonfat Greek yogurt. If you stay with the ham, moderation in all things. And eat a banana each day that you do.

Peanut Butter, jam & ham on toast is a fave quick breakfast/lunch of mine.

Kat, I'd love to get more banana in my diet, don't get me wrong... but the texture and taste is a huge no-no for me. Legit can't swallow them. Yes, I have tried. If you have any hacks to cover up both the taste and texture, though... definitely lemme know and I'll absolutely give it a shot.

@sk.17, That sounds both weird and carb-loaded (because jam and bread)... if it works for you, then by all means, but I need more protein intake. I will try taking a page from your book, though, and try peanut butter with meat dishes. Peanut sauce is actually really tasty! 😋
