Sup buddies?
I'm looking forward to the weekend! Is it here yet? How about you wake me when it arrives? I'm getting pretty tired of getting up every day just to get my butt kicked with all the things I have to do in one day! There should be a law against getting sucked into this vortex of neverending work, dude!
Now ya'll KNOW HOW I HATE TO COMPLAIN...hee hee...but I'm starting to think my nursery is out to get me! I had nightmares for several nights in a row about the trees needing my care and attention (THIS IS A TRUE STORY! YOU KNOW HOW I LOATHE BEING SERIOUS AND MUSHY, BUT I JUST GOTTA SHARE THIS! SO WHY DON'T YOU SIT UP AND PAY ATTENTION FOR ONCE!)
ok...so these nightmares haunted me, left me thinking that i was just stressing out about how much work there is to do. Didn't think much more about it that that. However, SOMETHING called to me constantly, and it was worse when I'd go to sleep every night. Eventually the feeling became more like dread. Of course it was beginning to weigh me down, so I ventured out to the nursery looked around. I didn't see much, but I decided to strap on my belt which is loaded wtih equipment to handle just about any situation I might encounter, and I began my walk down each row. Nothing out of the ordinary popped out...until I was about 3/4 done with my inspection. That's when I came upon 8 rows of redwood trees that hadn't had water in over 4 weeks! We had a really strong wind and the wind wires that support them toppled over and got destroyed under the weight of these trees (each weighs about 80 lbs and we're talking 280 trees!). When the workers went out there to pick up the trees, they didn't check to see if their water supply was intact. A HUGELY NEGLECTFUL MOVE ON THEIR PART CONSIDERING IT'S COMMON SENSE TO CHECK SOMETHING AS OBVIOUS AS THAT!
I could have cried to see how they were struggling in this Cali heat just to stay alive! If it were a hospital, they would be considered critical! I've been their mommy since they were little saplings 3 years ago and now they were struggling just to live!
So now I'm telling you all, be KIND to your trees and plants! They really are alive, they give us the air we breathe, as well as help to filter out the pollution from the air, so do your part and FEED, WATER AND PROTECT THEM! :)
thank you...my speech is over!
it wasn't intended to be a speech...I was just telling you that the trees came to find me in my dreams, which is eerie dontcha think?
MUAH!
