marcubby2's Journal, 15 May 22

At my heaviest in 1999 I was 283lbs…… Wow that was hard to type, I still struggle everyday with my weight.
I am new to this app and very excited to see what it's all about! I have been a
yo-yo dieter my whole life and like many deal with it daily. Recently moving to a new state and not having met any new people or making any friends yet has really effected my weight and mood. The long cold 🥶 Green Bay winter has made for a lot of comfort food eating in excess. The warmer weather is here and I do LOVE to walk the trails but I just don't seem to have the energy and motivation. I'm 5'6 and feel my best at 130lbs so I'm looking at loosing 23lbs. I need to learn and realize it's not about how fast I have to lose but rather the healthy way to lose even if it takes me a year…….easier said then done but I'll give it my best this time and always.

First I’d like to say wow you are amazing you have come along way since 1999. You definitely have what it takes and I’m sure you will reach your new goal. Second I’d like to say I am also new to FS (about a month now) I haven’t figured out how to work everything on the site or login food or make my opening journal yet but I was told from somebody on here that there is a YouTube video I will have to check it out. Have you figured out a way to see your own account/Journal and posts? I thought I would just have to hit the icon like you do to see others but it doesn’t come up for me. And lastly I would like to say welcome to Wisconsin! I actually live a little over an hour south of Green Bay. i’d have to say my favorite season is summer and fall. So much to do I frequently go walking, biking, and swimming. Starting middle May all the way through October one of my favorite things to do is hit the Saturday Farmers Market which includes a lot of walking down Main Street with healthy food options. I would also agree our winters are definitely some of the coldest but what helped me to stay active was finding hobbies that kept me moving. For an example we used to have an indoor mall (mall walking) but that got torn down about a couple years ago, I love to go sledding on the hills and I also love to ice skate. My kids all grew up in hockey and figure skating. Looking forward to following along with your progress I know you will do it❤️

Onthego2 Welcome to FS as well I hope your enjoying it as much as I do and finding it easy to use. Thank you for all your kind engorging words we all need it from time to time. 😀 I am VERY much liking it in WI. It certainly was a LONG cold winter but I am excited to check out the summer activities. Thank you for all the great ideas! I sure hope I see you again on FS 🌻

Marcubby2 I have gotten better on the app I think I found how I can See my own journal but still haven’t mastered logging in my food and figuring out how to add the calories and exercises I do. It’s just a matter of finding the time to explore by trial and error I’m not very good with technology. One other thing I forgot to add is if you ever get the opportunity and you like water parks the Wisconsin Dells is a fun place to visit with mini golf, shopping, restaurants, entertainment in numerous water parks which includes walking up many flights of stairs to get to the top of the slide to go down. That is a place my parents always took our family and a place I have always taken my children. My children and I still enjoy going as adults.
