At my heaviest in 1999 I was 283lbs…… Wow that was hard to type, I still struggle everyday with my weight.
I am new to this app and very excited to see what it's all about! I have been a
yo-yo dieter my whole life and like many deal with it daily. Recently moving to a new state and not having met any new people or making any friends yet has really effected my weight and mood. The long cold 🥶 Green Bay winter has made for a lot of comfort food eating in excess. The warmer weather is here and I do LOVE to walk the trails but I just don't seem to have the energy and motivation. I'm 5'6 and feel my best at 130lbs so I'm looking at loosing 23lbs. I need to learn and realize it's not about how fast I have to lose but rather the healthy way to lose even if it takes me a year…….easier said then done but I'll give it my best this time and always.

You might look for hiking websites for your new home area and find a hiking group to join—- new friends with similar interest and exercise both. A win, Winn.

Hello. I’ve realized that losing weight in a healthy way, no matter which diet works best for you, takes months. Back in Nov, I caught COVID. The hospital Dr then told me I was type 2 diabetic and that’s why Covid got so bad! So, since then I’ve gone from 182 - 146. I reached my 1st goal!! My 2nd goal is 130-135 pounds, then I’ll go into maintenance. For me, giving up SUGARY SWEETS helped tremendously. Plus, I went low carb. Still eat carbs but in a more healthy way. (Like beans and sweet potatoes). I’m realizing too it’s how MUCH a person eats that affects health. So I’m also a CICO kinda gal now. I’m into strength training as well. I enjoy this app because it helps me watch my macros/calories and keeps me in touch with others w similar goals…to get healthier!! Some great recipes, too! I’ve got two granddaughters I’d like to stay healthy for!! ♥️♥️ I wish you luck! You’ve lost weight before, you can do it again!! :)

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that through diet and after blood work, my Dr approved for me to go from 10 mg to 5 mg glipizide! 🙌🏻 The point is, food is a powerful tool to help keep you healthy or ruin your life.

I’m so sorry you got Covid. All along they have been warning us that type 2 diabetic and obesity were the two biggest influencing factors for poor Covid outcomes, but few took that warning seriously. Keep on the path you are on— it is predicted that we are headed for another serious round as we enter the fall.

On February 9, 2022, the day I was told I was diabetic, I weighed 258.8 Lbs. Today, May 15, 2022, at 8:00am, I weighed 222.4 Lbs. You CAN do this! When I started, I wanted to lose weight, naturally, but was more concerned about lowering my A1C Glucose Level and getting off of Metformin and completely avoiding insulin shots. My next Fasting Labs will be on June 9, 2022, and I hope to see as much success in lowering my A1C as I have in weight loss. As they say, "The numbers don't lie!" My plan was simple, well, on paper anyway. I set limitations for myself and STUCK TO THEM! I set a limit of 1700 Calories/day. I also limited my total Carbohydrates to 175g/day (45g for Breakfast, Lunch and Supper and only 20g for a snack 2 times per day). (Breakfast- 45g, Lunch - 45g and Supper - 45g Morning snack 20g and Evening snack - 20g = 175g Total Carbohydrates. CLOSE THE KITCHEN AND THE CABINETS at 8:00pm! YOU ARE DONE EATING for the day! Get a minimum of 30 minutes of exercise at least 5 days per week! Wishing you many successes in n your journey.

Amazing what you have done weight wise. Shedding down from 280 to your current weight is awesome. You do know what it takes.
