Didn't do so well yesterday on this diet. I know I have to break my bad eating habits but it seems so hard. Missed breakfast today, but had a light lunch and ate a healthy dinner. I am going to try and stick to the snack I have allotted for myself and then not eat anything after that, except I will have a small glass of Asti Spumanti to ring in the new year.
Every time I cheat or overeat I lose a little self esteem. Until I got sick in my late 30's/early 40, I always maintained a decent weight. There were times when I was 10-15 pounds overweight and I would diet and lose it, but nothing like I am now. I would be so happy at this point just to reach my first goal of being under 200 pounds. My ultimate goal is to lose 75 pounds. I just want to feel good about my body again and start to feel healthier. I know I need a lot of support, but I also know that most of this is me supporting myself and working hard to replace bad eating habits with good ones.
While my diabetes is uncontrolled, my Thyroid is now at a good level. So I can no longer blame the hypothyroidism and my quitting smoking. I know I replaced cigarettes with food 14 years ago, but it's high time I found another healthier substitute for the excess food I eat.
Here's hoping 2015 brings great things to not just me but to everyone. And here's to a healthier me, throwing away the food crutch and exercising more!
Happy New Year Everyone!
