Shrinking Sonya's Journal, 07 Apr 11

Feeling good today. Forgot to step on the scale this morning, but maybe that's a good thing since I'm usually so obsessive about it. Tax season is dying down so my life is becoming a little more calm and routine again (thank God!). Being site coordinator has been tough, but I've learned how to handle large piles of paperwork like a pro lol.

Hoping to go Easter dress shopping next weekend for myself and the girls (stepdaughter Summer, 13. stepdaughter Savannah, 11. daughter, 7 months). I don't even know what size I wear in dresses. All of my dresses are too big now (which is great, except I have very little money to replace them and I'm always needing them for church). I'm gonna have to learn how to thrift store shop ASAP cause I don't want to put a lot of money into my "between" sizes.

Sonya, I'm in the same boat! I refuse to buy new clothes because I'm only that size for small period of time. Everyone in my office knows about my journey... and I have asked them to ask their friends/family for donations. So far, it's working... I've gotten 8 pair of slacks that i just need to hem (I'm way short!). It's exciting! Good luck to you on reaching the 100 pounds lost soon! I love reading your journals... they are inspirational! Thanks, Stephanie

Thanks! What's sad is I have a coworker who keeps giving me hand-me-down clothes to give to my sister because they're all too big for me. Maybe I need to start praying for a size 18 friend to start losing weight ASAP lol!

I was going to say, thrift store shopping is your friend! They are cheap, the clothes are generally in good - awesome condition (well my thrift store anyways) and they have a good variety of sizes, and when you are done you can just send them back to good will and they will be there for the next person!

Well I live in a VERY small town, and I've been going to thrift stores pretty frequently and it's pretty bad what's available. I think I might plan a thrift store shopping extravaganza and drive closer to the bigger city near us and shop around there. There's probably more to choose from the closer you are to civilization lol!
