Whoever said housework isn't exercise clearly has never done more than swipe a wet paper towel over a counter and calls it 'clean'. Perhaps it can be more accurately called an activity that uses energy and definitely burns calories. Yesterday I just wanted to deep clean everything and spent about 7 hours with the ballgames on vacuuming carpets (and moving furniture to do so), scrubbing bathrooms (floors, sinks, toilets, showers, cabinets), washing floors, polishing furniture and doing laundry. On top of that, taking the dog out a couple of times for a nice long walk. So maybe I didn't go to the gym or do my Pilates, but I DID get exercise and I have a few muscles today reminding me!

I always count my housework...it adds up!

I added "Housework" in FatSecret as an exercise, which says burned 743 calories. I cleaned the house for about 4 hours. I was so exhausted that I couldn't physically do my daily exercise routine. It is definitely exercise!
