Sarah Randall's Journal, 06 Oct 21

I weigh myself everyday, I can't seem to wait a week. I like to see how much it fluctuates, if it does, each day. I bounced back from my weekend binge, back down below my recent lowest weight. I know "they" say not to weigh more than once a week but I don't see the harm in my curiousity.

Today we only work 2 hours so after work, before eating lunch, I'm going to workout for an hour, 40 min cardio and 20 min strength. I'm going to try and do this 5 days a week for October. I could be a little too ambitious yet but compared to where I started: sleeping 12+hrs a day, less than 3000 steps a day, eating takeaways 5 times a week, not eating breakfast... I've changed loads about my lifestyle in the last 2 months.

Changes I've made since July 25th, 2021:
*waking up between 5-7am instead of 9-11am
*walking 30-120 min daily
*diet changes to low fat, low calorie, less eating at restaurants and fast food (still go out about once a week, still working on cutting back even more on takeaways)
*strength training with trainer 2x a week
*rowing on home row machine 5x a week for 30 min each session

There are a few others I'd like to note that are self care victories for me, just giving myself some praise. Before I began this weight loss mission, I made a commitment to myself to work on my hygiene and not only weight but overall appearance. I just let myself go these past 5 years because of depression and realized I used to take a lot better care in myself. So these are just things I thought of to try something different.
Other changes I've made to self care:
*Taking showers every other day instead of just when I'd get stinky
*developing a skincare regimen (which I had NEVER had before), washing my face morning and night, toning, moisturizing
*brushing my teeth morning and night (I would only do it once a day at night before) and flossing at least 2 times a week (was never doing it before, only if food was stuck somewhere bugging me)
*putting on makeup on my days off or after work, for fun. AND..... I just recently discovered something called Ipsy and it's a beauty box subscription (apparently box subscriptions have been a thing for quite a while now but I just heard of this kinda thing) that sends makeup, hair and skin care products monthly to try out and I'm having so much fun with that.
*conditioning my hair regularly (I barely even washed my hair before, even when I'd shower)

So, for me, I've been trying hard to change. It seems like a lot and it is, but it's been gradual and a struggle sometimes to make myself do these things every day but it's getting easier. I just keep imagining what I can do to transform my health and feelings and appearance and stamina!! Et cetera!!! We all got goals, and we can meet them!!!!

Have a really fantastic day!!

I've heard both-- weigh in every day and only weigh in a week. I think it really depends on what you get out of it and how it makes you feel. I get scale anxiety, so I weigh in every day so my anxiety doesn't build to the point of avoiding it all together.
