Made steamed milk buns (bao) for the first time yesterday. Felt brave enough to try stuffed ones today! i need to improve my shaping and they might be upside down but theyre so delicious! About 200 calories for each but theyre huge.

One of my favorites when I was in China. Everything was good, so it's hard to pick.

Oh the dim sum when I was in China! In Shenzhen the restaurants would pop up tables in the morning for the ease of commuters and I could get a whole thing of steamed dumplings for .50¢! The people at the conference I was at eating the "internationally palatable" hotel fare were jealous.

Bao is my weakness. They are so comforting.

Do you use bamboo steamers

Yfritz, since this was my first time I just did them with my vegetable steamer but I think I like making them enough to head to the Asian food store to grab some steamers. It was a pain to do them 3 at a time when it takes 20 minutes for each batch to steam and cool down.
