I started intermittent fasting 16:8 a couple days ago. Anyone had luck getting off the weight loss plateau with that method? Seems I am stuck in the 140s and need to try something new.

yes hi there I been on the 16/8 for two weeks now. I am down 8 pounds as of today. I also went back on the Atkins diet so I have cut carbs until my goal of 35 pounds. I am also a 3 year Pescatarian as well.

IF didn't help my break my plateau - I'm within 5 lbs of my ideal now and nothing short of sticking to a strict 1200 cal a day will get me thru these final 5. =) IF helps make it easier to stick to 1200, but I like it for other reasons. Mostly because I feel very energized in the mornings now, and I appreciate feeling hunger without feeling controlled by hunger. Ostensibly it has a host of other benefits as well, but without calorie counting it isn't a good weight loss method on its own, in my opinion.

If you are averaging about 80is% of your RDI and you are sedentary (no exercise recorded) ... its probably not enough..? You seem be in the 1500-1600 cal range for maintenance you need to cut that in order to get to a deficit, its just math.
You can use IF to help, you keep to a deficit by training yourself not to expect food at certain times of the day, but that alone is not the solution without the deficit.

I almost always do 16:8 = to get off a plateau you may try adding a little more protein while slightly reducing carbs...but I follow calories eaten vs calories burned

Thanks @bandrai you really know how to use this app better than me. I just synced Fat Secret with my Apple Watch I use to track my exercise.
