pumakitten's Journal, 10 Mar 14

Its Monday and a beautiful day!!

I've been a little busy lately, so I haven't been really diligent on keeping up with my journal. I think I need to kick myself in the rear to get back in the habit!! I have been pretty much on track with watching my intake, but pretty negligent on getting it logged. That is going to change too!!

I know it has really helped me to be mindful, so I know I need to keep it going. I'm having a little fun with the new Keurig, and had a memorable cup of coffee just now...lol!! Emeril's big easy coffee. Fairly strong, but really good!! I just have to remember that I can only have one cup..*sigh*
I have to keep an eye on my daily caffeine intake. I haven't tried the Jazzed up decaf yet. Hmmm....next on my to try list!!

I finished crocheting a sweater for my mom, and am deciding on the next project. I haven't decided yet weather to give it to her for Christmas or Mothers day. I found another nice sweater pattern, an a few nice ones for shrugs. Guess i'll figure something out!!

On to other news, I'm still haveing tooth issues. I was supposed to get some pulled last tuesday. Seems that WVU school of dentistry dislikes patients that show up with state medicaid, instead of cash. They won't bill your insurance either. It's up to you to get reimbursed from your insurance provider. Twice now they have told me that my teeth can't be saved, and they need to come out. This time I made sure to tell them that I had medicaid, rather pointedly. I get told, ok, not to worry, we'll take care of it. Well, they didn't. I go in to have 7 teeth removed, and remind them again that I have medicade...and then they are like, oh, you should have told us...bla bla bla...

Needless to say I was royally peeved! Everything was just peachy, as long as they thought I was going to pay cash. Then I became one of "those" people, and get told, well the state won't pay for any of this. And I told them again, for the umpteenth time, that as long as it was necessary, the state would, they just had to call and get it approved. They couldn't be bothered with doing that. I got a major run around, more or less got profiled by this sweet kids teacher, and ended up going home, still in pain, with no resolution. I guess that will teach me. I told the hubby to find that bottle of Jack and grab a pair of pliers. I hope I can get some information on this soon...That teacher really made me angry. I became one of "those" people. I'm not a lifetime member of the state welfare department. I have worked hard in my life. Sometimes, just sometimes, we need a little bit of help once in a while!! With this stupid obamacare insurance, we can't even afford that!! And the majority of the available (not affordable) policies don't include dental. Also, what dental policies I could find that were half decent (still not that affordable with our income) I would have to wait at least a year before I could go get this taken care of!!! What are you supposed to do....stupid crap...

oh well, enough of that rant...I'm sorry I dumped that on you all on a Monday...
On another front, Barney is all better, and feeling pretty frisky too! He was running through the house yesterday chasing Squeek, and it was pretty funny! Now we have an issue with Sweetie Pie. She is the momma of most of our little clowder. She has a runny eye that we have been treating along with everyone else. Hers is not clearing up. Looks like we will have to save a little up and then take her to see our vet. At least it isn't pus coming out. It is getting a little easier getting the drops in her eye. She growls like crazy, but she never attempts to bite or claw, which is a good thing!! The only bad thing is that Vets and Dentists in this area just will not make payment arrangements. Poop.

I think I'll grab some yarn and start on a few chemo caps to donate. I'm also learning a new technique, and may just use it to make some cat beds!!
The sun is trying to come out, and we just may end up hitting 60 degrees today!! yay! I hope everyone has had a good weekend!! Keep on doing that fantastic work on your journeys everyone, and have a fabulous day!!

The "Jazzed Up" is also fairly strong, but, it's good also.

Good time for a change. And good luck with your teeth - you must be really miserable having to put things off for such a long time.
