Rockin2Thin's Journal, 12 Jan 11

I watched The Biggest Loser Couples last night. I don't usually get caught up in this show but for some reason this season is especially pulling at my heart strings. I cried when the green team was hashing out their father/daughter issues. It's so true...you have to lose the weight for yourself...and you can't make even those you love the most do anything about their own weight...obesity is so much like a drug addiction. I know that is a strong statement but for me I see the similarities. You can't make an addict go into treatment or decide for them to stop doing the thing that is literally killing them. I have decided for myself that I am taking control of my own health and being responsible for the bad choices I have made....the excuses I have used. NO MORE! Now is the time for sustained change. Now is the time for me to invest some time in myself and stop always putting others before me. I can do this! I am doing this!

Great post. Not only is it that we are the only ones that can make the change, many of us also need to stop blaming outside forces for why we do or do not succeed. No one or nothing can make us eat off plan. No one or nothing can make us feel worthless or inferior. We can do it. We will do it! Thanks and have a wonderful Wednesday!

i love that show - have watched all 11 seasons, 9 of those i use to eat ben & jerry's or a big bowl of buttery popcorn as i watched, wishing i could lose weight too. i like your attitude and i have always taken responsibility for my fattness. it wasn't mc d's, b&j's, coke, or anyone else who made me fat, lazy and unhealthy - it was all me. i made the change for ME, so I could be healthy, so I can be around longer for my kids, so I can enjoy life more. WE can do this - yay to us!!

lol....sophie99, i used to do the same thing at times while watching the biggest loser. before i had my last two babies the show was on it's first season and i used it as inspiration to help me lose weight. i lost 40 lbs back then. now after having my last two babies i'm struggling and have 62lbs to lose. these last two weeks have been EXTREMELY hard as my weight has not budged at all and I've been working my butt off, following my eating plan. I think it was the steroids the doctor put me on for the arthritis in my back, but it's still frustrating. I remember the determination I had when I lost 40 lbs before and I'm trying to have that same determination this time around, but it seems a lot harder. I'm fighting craving right now....I have to take this thing one minute at a time.

Great entry; thanks for sharing. You have show extraordinary commitment and it's a sure thing in my mind that you will reach your goal. You are unstoppable! The only thing that stops anyone is found in the six inches between their ears - their thoughts and their choices. Change your thoughts, change your life. Change your choices, change your future. Honk Honk!
