Jan 5 already! Beginning day 11 of Atkins, and finally feel like I am evening out as far as understanding what I can eat. I am loving this and of course the progress helps. Six pound loss is very inspiring!
I have discovered almond milk and coconut milk. I have been a milk lover for a long time and have often loved drinking warmed milk in the evening or even during the day as a de-stresser. I hated to give up milk. BUT, coconut and almond milk are awesome. And adding cinnamon and nuking in the microwave, very nice and convenient. When I first tasted it, it was like drinking diet pepsi the very first time. But I am happily acquiring a taste for it and actually enjoying it. My hope is that my idea of what is sweet and not will change because my sweet tooth is horrible!! I love all those nasty pastries, bagels, muffins, cookies, candy.... But I can give them up to get in the next size of my jeans.

Way to be creative and so happy your taste buds are cooperating! I was so happy, too, when I discovered almond flour and made my husband his favorite Pound Cake, low carb style. I felt like we aren't giving up a thing by just replacing the staple ingredients! :D Your progress is excellent so far! Keep it up! Honk Honk!!

So glad we are buddies now. I am also a big Almond milk fan. I am alergic to cow milk so I have explored the options. Rice milk is ok but more like skim milk to me. Soy milk is great but can mess with your hormones as it has plant estrogens in it. Almond milk is great. I think Silk brand tastes better but Almond Breeze has less carbs. I am anxious to try almond flour too as I am also allergic to wheat. Thanks for the idea Evie!
