I'm at the highest weight that I've ever been in my life. I know I've been out of control for about the last 4 years ever since my son passed away 3/31/16. I made the decision about 3 weeks ago to try a new way, not exactly a "diet", but just changing my eating habits. I cut out soda pop completely, I eat smaller portions, and I eat fresh fruit instead of sweets and pastries. I'm really trying to stay away from bread and refined sugar. I walk every day, not very far right now, but I'm trying. I have lost some weight, at least by what the scale says, but I can't see it or feel it yet. I set my initial goal at 40 lbs. That will get me to about 193 lbs. My total goal is to get down to about 150 lbs. But baby steps for now.
99.1 kg Lost so far: 6.6 kg.    Still to go: 11.5 kg.    Diet followed: Reasonably Well.

You are strong and can do this. Small goals are more manageable when you have a large amount to lose. This is a very supportive group so journal away. So sorry for your loss.

Sincerest sympathy on loss of your son. Alnona, you have my sympathy as well.🙏🙏 As for weight struggle, you're not alone. At the moment I'm counting not gaining and moving more as a win😁. Next week will be better!

My heart goes out to you. The scale will change quicker than your reflection in the mirror will, but stick with it and you'll see results. Good luck!

Sorry about your loss. It does take time to get back control of your life. I lost my daughter when she was 25. Halloween was her favorite holiday and her birthday was end of November so starting about now I fell sad. I have other children so I try not to leave them out but it is hard. It sounds like you have a plan and you will get a lot of support here. praying for you.
