GOOD MORNING!!!
Back from Cali and completely immersed in work the last few days. I have so much going on right now-- getting a promotion just over a month ago, moving into a new house a week later, finding out that 4 of my 7 stores were being sold a week after that, a crazy Halloween, a quick 2 1/2 day trip to California, and a week of helping out with the transfers of my old stores to the new owner as well as attending a day of meetings yesterday ~~ On top of all of that, there was my daughters b-day party, trying to get my new house organized, cleaning the old house, not to mention the day to day stuff like laundry, sweeping, meal making, etc, etc, etc... Now there's stuff like Thanksgiving to plan for, my oldest daughter's 18th birthday on the 28th, and our wedding anniversary on the 21st. Whewww!!! It's definitely a good thing that challenge is what keeps me going, or I'd be down and out for good! :-)
Hubby has started getting himself into a workout routine again. He has been to the gym 3 times this week, and I went with him once. His going will help me get motivated~~ we're having trouble with my membership right now, though. I hate stuff like this... we pay the monthly payment, but since I haven't used this one much (we have two memberships and I had been using the other), when they built a new gym and made it a 'step up' from the other one, my membership is not good enough and they want me to pay even more now! Hubby had been going before the new one opened, so they automatically gave him the bump up~~ He's going to get it all figured out so that I can get going again. It's gotten so cold here all of a sudden that I really need to be indoors to get my workout in. ;{
Had meetings all afternoon yesterday, then dinner with our team. We are all 'field' team, so we only get together a few times a year, but we have so much fun together! I am the youngest of the group, and 4 of them are men who have decided they need to be like surrogate fathers to me, but we all joke around a lot and they have been great about accepting me into the team since I started. Anyway, we went out for Mexican, so of course I had to have a margarita, then another, and had some really good dish called Pollo a la Crema-- I only ate about 1/2 of it, so I don't feel like I did too bad, but definitely not as good as I should have.
My oldest daughter started her new job yesterday. A little while back I mentioned that she had gotten laid off at her full time job. Two days later, she got a call from the head cashier of a car lot that is part of the same company she used to work for. They are giving her fifty cents more an hour and 40 hours a week with a set schedule. Not bad I don't think! Her and her roommate are looking for a new apartment since their lease is up. It's still kind of strange to be talking about her as an adult-- I sometimes miss her being at home, but she's doing fine.
It's about time to start getting the other 'chilluns' off to school. Hope everyone's doing well. I don't get many replies to my sporadic journals and I don't get a chance to sit and read journals much anymore, but I have not forgotten everyone here and how nice it has been to be able to turn to all of you during hard times. Thank you!
