I did it again. I cant believe I did it again. I brought another stray kitten into the house. I brought little Pearl in last night. Her brother Petey got hit 2 nights ago, and my next door neighbor (nice) found him and buried him. He told me he found him when he came over on monday to the cook out. He was really discreet when he told me, as he didn't want the kids to hear. I still wonder what happened t the other brother. These were feral kittens that their momma brought to my house. She knows I feed everyone out there!! You could say I have a little mini colony of feral cats that we feed everyday.
There are some other kittens, but the 3 brothers that are there are fairly street savvy, and stay close to my house and they go into my basement. We are planning on fixing a permanent cat entrance into my basement for the ferals. I told the hubby that we need to fix it so the ferals have their own area. They come in when its cold and when it rains. This is an old house though. Semi concreted half basement. Built around 1900 to 1910. Still sturdy too!! At least they stay warm and dry down there, and the hubs goes and checks every morning and will feed whoever is down there. I don't venture there, as the steps are really steep.
Well, I brought little Pearl inside, and no, I'm not the cat lady, the hubby is the cat man!! He scooped her up, snuggled her and that was that!! He even made sure he took her with him when he went to bed, and I should have taken that picture!!! Him sleeping with Pearl all curled up with him!! I heard him talking to her this morning, when I was half awake, talking baby talk t her.......thats my hubby!!! We have our own herd in here, but its warn and cuddly!!
I will still try to find her a good home, I have been trying to find quite a few of these sweethearts a good forever home. It isn't the easiest thing to do. I will not put a free to good home ad in the paper, and I won't put them on Craigslist. Too many people in the area that would not be good parents or would other wise harm them. I know of one person who has snakes looks for free to good home cats to feed to his snake, because he doesn't like cats!!!
Oh well, she is loved here, an fed and will make a trip to see the vet man soon. I do love all animals, but cats have a soft spot in my heart. I have to go "rescue" Squeek from Pearl!!! Oh, my, this is just too funny!!! Have a wonderful day today everyone!!!
