I found a link regarding analyzing dog foods and how healthy they are for your dog and found out the prescription food the vet put my boxer on is rated low (#1) and has a carcinogenic in it. I'm not very happy about it because boxers have a tendency toward cancer. Copper has only been on the food for about a week, so I think I'm going to switch him to one of the higher quality foods (#6) and take the other food back to the vet. The Wellness Core food that was suggested to me is rated a #6 which is the highest rating. I think I'll go with a grain-less food since grains are not recommended for dogs. What I was feeding my babies was rated low #1. I never thought about their food as being not nutritious, but I guess they are no different than any of us. I guess they need to go on a doggie atkins diet? HAHA!! Below is the website if anyone is interested.

I'm starting to lose a little water weight, but it takes a while for the medicine I was on to get out of my system. No headaches yet and hopefully they stay gone.

I don't know if the food you are wanting to switch to is Iams, but they are doing a HUGE recall on several of the Iams products.
And, well done! Any weight loss is always a hopeful event :)
