Thank you,
Doodlehead for that clarity!
It occurred to me over the week-end that that's what I need – a hobby - but to be honest, I never do anything about it. That needs to change! My current "hobby" is watching DVDs or Series. This isn't a hobby, it‘s an excuse. Don’t get me wrong, it has its place in the entertainment and relaxation spectrum, but not for the hours I spend on it.
I need something that keeps me engaged AND my hands busy.
With
Doodlehead’s inspiring words, I’ve come up with a list of things I can do:
I need to spend more time listening to CD’s, good ol’ music and immerse myself in renovating the nursery. It’s incredibly meditative once I’ve forced myself to start.
Once the nursery’s done, there’s the rest of The Haunt – the house. There’s also the garden…
Art! I loved drawing & painting and was my chosen career path until, well, things happened. I’ll be including some of these skills in the renovation of the nursery and the rest of The Haunt.
Offending family member has left for their home so The Haunt is ours again…
I’ve left the TV off whilst making supper and put on music. I’ve noticed that I groove and move far more (quite involuntarily) while I cook and with the suggestions of fruit and a glass of water before I start preparing supper, I find that snacking on supper ingredients doesn’t really cross my mind if I belt out the words to my favourite song while I’m busy.
