Well, here we go. My hubby is off today, so we were going to take the kids to swim lessons. Well, my MIL called yesterday and invited us to a lunch time picnic. I know it was due to the fact that my SIL is in town and they have other things they want to do later in the day and it's convenient for them. This messes our day up a bit because we had plans for the afternoon that will now be delayed. I know this sounds harsh, but you need to know the family dynamics to really understand fully. So we will see how the day pans out. Oh yeah and I would love to take my ff hot dogs to the picnic, but I know they will have something to say if I carry my own hot dogs in. I did make a low fat dessert to take. I'm not saying a word about it being low fat and low sugar.

Anywhoo, hubby and I would like to try to get to the flea market today, if for nothing else to get some exercise and fresh fruit.

Well, I will get some more exercise in there also. I will probably be on the treadmill later today. My Curves is closed today.

Hope you all have a lovely holiday!!

I hate when plans get botched up =( Luckily I have a great relationship with my MIL....but in my first marriage....my ex's family was, well...lets just say he didn't even want to hang out with them very much (they both modeled in their younger days, and had eating issues themselves, and would make my ex and I feel guilty on eating anything that wasn't healthy, so with them, I had the opposite, and would bring fattening food to "prove them wrong"). I'm very vocal about the diet thing with people, and don't let people sway me. If you want to bring things to help keep yourself on track, then you should do it. Don't let them saying something hinter all of the progress you've made! 21 pounds is amazing!! One of the things I immediately do when I walk into anywhere when I bring something, even though I know they have food is say....Wow, everything looks amazing! I wish I wasn't dieting! Sure, you'll get some of the people who will still push their food on you, but those are typically the ones who are jealous of your progress, and don't understand. Bring those ff hotdogs...and celebrate this day like YOU want to, not them! =) Have a Happy 4th =)

Ya, I say BRING YOUR HOT DOGS! You have worked hard to get where you are and you should not let potential comments from others deter you from following the path you have layed out for yourself. Good going making the dessert and you are right, no need to let them know about the calorie content. If someone comments on your hotdogs, be armed with the nutritional info for THEIR hotdogs and let them know how many calories and grams of fat (and how many of those are saturated!) they are consuming. Even just a regular weiner has around 12g of fat in it - that's equivalent to one tablespoon of fat and about a third of that (one teaspoon) is saturated fat. Let them digest that! YOU have a happy, HEALTHY 4th of July :D
