It's so nice not being in a food prison :)

Most people can eat what they want until they get to a certain age. The statistics are not good for older people, the side effects of drugs are not good either. Many people on this site are in that age group. For those who have diabetes who do not try to control it, they can look forward to blindness, amputation and death. It is good to see people on this site who wish to improve their health. There was a time when they could eat what they wanted but it might no longer be the case.

why does the above-all-the-turmoil cat make me think of rosio? 🤔

You can always eat what you like. It depends on if you're able to moderate it.

Ireland, I'm not sure what you are referring to in stating. that older people cannot eat what they want. I'm 76, eating what I want, and losing weight steadily. My health is good, I am not, nor have I ever been, diabetic.

Celiac disease, Crohn's disease, peanut allergies, diabetics and many others? No they can't.

The prevalence for diabetes is highest in 45-64 year olds per CDC estimates. I see "healthy" people every night I work that moderation didn't work so well... Chronic diseases aren't always avoided by "moderation".

balance is always key. Any form of extreme behavior will eventually lead to madness.

Ireland, my younger sister died as a result of Crohn's. She was 40 and had been ill for a decade, hardly elderly. Age is not always the deciding factor.

I agree Shirfleur! I am saying that in most cases you can eat what you like when you're younger. I know a diabetic who died in his 40's and had a part of a leg amputated prior to that. CB1006, it is interesting about the age group.

Ireland, I'd like to see some statistics from a reliable source to back up your statements.

Older people can’t eat as much cause (no judgement) they usually don’t work and they are afraid of exercise

Ireland do u exercise regularly and eat to satisfy hunger only ?

Yeah, stay away from things that make you ill. That's a given, but no disease cancels out CICO.
