Just Say No! LOL! Does that ever work? Being a stay-at-home mommy makes it sooo difficult, doesn't it! They say don't even buy the junk but we have to supply snacks for our kids. I feel you pain. Hang in there and have a good workout :D

While it's true that kids need to have snacks on hand it's NOT true that they have to be fat-laden, sugary, or unhealthy. Here are some suggestions for kids snacks that are healthy: raisins, all kinds of fruit, yogurt, cheese squares or string cheese, peanut butter with plain saltines, baby carrotts, celery stuffed with peanut butter, these are just a few. Kids do not need sugar. In fact, it's toxic in the body. One thing to never, ever buy for kids: Nutella!! The first ingredient listed on the Nutella label is... SUGAR. Whoa!

For the most part the snacks in the house are fairly healthy, like the pretzels I was munching on were 12 grain..the peanut butter is my weakness. I would not buy the Nutella anyway, the kid's dont know about what it tastes like and neither do I, so I have no need to bring it into the house. My kids love cheese and yogurt thank god, luckily they don't really have sweet tooths. If the kids get sugar it is usually in the morning, like if they have pancakes/syrup or muffins, that way they have the day to burn it off :)
