nino66's Journal, 15 May 10

Well, I didn't do too bad yesterday. I was already over at lunch from my birthday dessert I made so I thought I would really blow it out of the water with supper. But I ate so much at lunch (it was really good) that I wasn't even hungry. I just snacked on some veggies from the veggie tray at my neice's bday party. So even though I went over on my carbs it wasn't as bad as I expected it to be. Had a great time with my family. Have another family party tonight. Me, my sisters, my daughter, and neices are staying at hotel and having a mini bachelorette party for my neice. I need to call before I go to see what my sister is planning for food to see if I need to bring my own. Can't wait. We will have a blast. Hope we don't make too much noise and get kicked out. LOL But I hope I get to do nothing but be lazy tommorrow. I have been going non stop for about 3 weeks now with very few hours sleep to top it off. I need some rest!!! But the best thing is because of atkins I have had the energy to keep it up. Hope everyone has a great weekend.

Alright, Nino. Have a great time tonight. I am in the process of getting ready for my son's wedding in 2 weeks. The reception for 100+ people is at my house and it has been raining almost everyday for the last 2 weeks. And the weather men cannot even predict it. They told us that Saturday was going to be the pick day of the weekend, and I awoke to steady rain, with temps in the 50's. So much for getting anything done today (reception is outside!) We have had about 6 inches of rain since last Saturday! So, I am praying for better weather, and that when it gets here there will be enough time to finish up. But like you said the great thing about Atkins is that I have plenty of energy to do the things that need to be done. Enjoy all the great family time, and don't get too crazy!

I know what you mean about the rain. We have been getting alot lately too. Where do you live? Hopefully though that with all the rain by the time the wedding gets here maybe it will all be gone. But I know what you mean about getting the yard ready. That is what I have been doing the past few weeks because I was getting ready for my daughters grad party. The weather has been crazy here. The temps can be 75-80 one day and the next in the low 60s. Last weekend when we had our party it turned cold and rainy. The party was outside and thank goodness we had a bon fire but everyone was wearing coats and gloves!!!! My husband says he should have been a weather man because it is about the only job that you can be wrong most of the time and not get fired. LOL The nice part is that now my yard still looks really nice. I hope the rain lets up so you can get your work done. It is a lot of work. But thank goodness for this way of life so that we can get it done!!!

Exactly Nino. We live in Missouri, and the weather here has been crazy. One day it is 75, the next it is 55. My poor yard and plants don't know what to expect. We had a frost last weekend! This is so bizarre. And I agree with your hubby, and he could probably do a better job. Just look out the freakin' window! lol They said last night at 10 pm that it was going to be in the 70's today, and it is almost noon and only 55. My yard will get there, but I am in a panic about what to do if it rains that day. I have 3 acres, lots of deck space, but the actual house is only 1350 sq feet!! Don't knwo where I will put everyone. So I have turned to the only resource that I know has any power, PRAYER!! Where do you live? And congrats on your daughter's graduation!

I live in Southern Indiana, just across the river from Kentucky. Got love that midwest weather. LOL. I'll same some prayers for you too. It will all work out. I have faith. What an exciting time for you and your family. I was in the same boat as you as far as our party. We have a small home a large yard so makes it kind of rough when you have to depend on the weather! Good luck with it all and keep us informed on your progress. And try not to get too stressed out!

Thanks for the prayers, Nino. It is such a hectic time, but my other son got married 2 years ago in June and we had the reception AND the wedding here. This one is just the reception, and we have 3 big 30 x 30 tents being set up so even if it does rain, there will be shelter. I just want things to be great for the kids. And yes, you do have to love that midwest weather. That is beautiful country you live in!
