I made it 36 hours with just clear liquids and an egg and a couple slices of ham when I got Shakey. Less than 300 calories which is not perfect for a fast but my carb intake was great. I made broth and added an egg for an egg drop soup effect when I became hungry at around 6 pm. And I got Shakey around 6 and had some ham slices with cheese shredded on it. That's it for the day besides Crystal light and water and one cup of coffee.

Congratulations on your fast! 36 hours is a LOT! I consider any fast successful. When I fist started I would have a McDonald's vanilla milkshake when I got 'shaky'. This was horrible for my carbs (and carbs were the point of my fast), but I just did what I could and kept trying. I would then regain the weight I lost when I started eating again! (I really suck at fasting!) But, I kept trying and got better. The reason I kept trying was that fasting was a tool that I could use to FINALLY get results (after 8 years of trying). Good luck!

Like @adef said, you did great! I have just started fasting once a week, usually 36-39 hours and I like it. 😊 Wishing you continued success! 👍

This was my first fast. So if I made it 10 hours I was amazed.

Luck and power to you. Be careful and pay attention to your body's signals. I hesitate to give anyone fasting input because I've never had to monitor my blood sugar or sodium levels - not sure if you do. I water fasted, but I ate if I needed to (not based on hunger, cause I was hungry most of the time, but based on other sensations) and I had a few salt crystals each day for the sodium since I am used to a high sodium intake. Only done it twice and I had some intense pain reactions yet felt much better after and I'm looking forward to my next fast in a few days. Every body if different so make sure you are protecting yours as you do this:) And yay for you!

Funny - your reply was a minute before my comment! Good for you 10 hours is a long time when you are not used to it!

May do a 36 hours fast once a week to help push fluids and keep myself in check. As long as I keep in mind that I can do a small modification of an egg or something if I get shakey I am happy. It really made me pay attention to whether I was actually hungry or just bored.

@Asmerella - I have found that if the food eaten during the fast is <2 carbs there is no affect on the weight loss. An egg would qualify. Basically, for me, the calories do not matter, only the the carbs. Therefore I fast only because it is the only way to get my carbs <5 a day. Also, the only reason I worked up to 5 days fasts was that there is a 'super charge' (no hunger / high energy / 1-2 pound weight loss) that hits on day 3+ :) Also, please use some sort of 'electrolyte concentrate'. I have found for me simply drinking a lot of water could not prevent the effects of dehydration on an extended fast. Dehydration can kill you and by the time you 'feel thirsty' you are already dehydrated.

Ok I am going to do one again this weekend so I'll keep in mind and let you all know how it goes as well. This one was not bad. Once I got over the notion that I have to eat I paid attention to my body instead of my head and ate when I was hungry.
