So today I've planned everything for my meals, I'm doing good, then someone sticks not one, but two pieces of cake on my desk. Two different flavors, so I have to try them both. Oh my! And these aren't little pieces. I think I'm going to do a taste of them while they're looking and then throw the rest. I hate wasting food, but I also hate wasting my motivation. One has cherries on it, so maybe I can just have those. :) I'll hide the evidence in my trash can and no one will be the wiser. The other thing that keeps me motivated not to eat cake at work is that it really tends to upset my stomach. I think its the oil and sugar, or at least that's what I'm going to tell myself.

Okay, that's it for me. I just had to get my cake dilemma out in the open, so maybe I'd do the responsible thing and just say no!

Oh man! Cake like that is not really food. One taste of each shouldn't be too bad, but you have provided a few options for yourself. Just do what is right for you. If the oil and sugar gets you sick, then I vote for the trash. 😈

yup, it took me a long time to learn it was ok to toss out food that was killing me. hated to waste. but then I thought even if I ate it, it would still be gone, just by passed my mouth into the trash and its gone all the same. people mean well, they just don't realize they are sabotaging my progress.

I'm glad to know I'm not alone. I threw the cake out when he wasn't looking, but I had to do it strategically. I got one piece gone, then he came over to my desk and had to ask 20 questions about the cake that I "ate". His wife made it and I guess is really sensitive about people not liking her food. So, then he stood there waiting for me to eat the other piece, so I did eat a few bites, but when he was gone I threw that one out too. There shouldn't be too much damage done. Moving forward. Who knew I could ever have cake stress??? :)

Darn, that is stressful. Silly guy! Well, at least that's over. Hope the rest of your day is stress-free. 😊

It has happened to me! I have gotten stronger as the months go back to say No and mean it. My health is important to me !

Next time Mr. Sabotage gives you cake, etc., say no thank you. It's not on my program to improve my health. And remember my mother's favorite saying, "I don't do guilt!'

How about a simple: “my doctor has advised me to no longer eat these types of things (no explanation required), but thank you so much for offering— it looks terrific”.
