::Checkpoint Goal Dress::
I have a ritual when dieting of hanging up a pair of my old favorite pants that are a size down from my current size with a little sign that says "Goal Pants!". (I gained all of my extra weight over only a few years so I still have tons of my clothes from my smaller sizes all the way back to my goal size). I enjoy doing this because it gives me a tangible "prize" to strive for and see everyday. This was my inspiration for "The Wedding Dress Diet". The problem with my "Goal Pants" is that I never give them a "goal date", so there is no real urgency, but the wedding dress comes with a date, so it is really keeping me driven.
However, I decided that my wedding dress goal is a bit far into the future and I can see myself slipping up and convincing myself that "I have plenty of time" before I have to fit into it. So, I have decided to add a goal with a deadline at approximately the 6 month mark. I have this one dress that still has the tags on it because I gained weight too fast to ever get to wear it. It would be awesome if I could fit into it by New Years. So, I hung it up with a little sign, "Goal Dress: New Year's Eve 2012" The size makes it a pretty aggressive goal, but what have I got to lose?
**I will state it now so I won't feel bad in the future, if I can just squeeze into it that counts, even if it looks bad and I choose not to actually wear it.
