So I’m gaining again and no fault of my own. 3 lbs in two days 😢. Still eating low calories and low carb. I’m turning 50 in a week and going through peri menopause so I have to believe that’s it. Anyone else out there close to my age in the same boat? Soooo frustrating!

Well, not sure I have any helpful information, I am closer to 60, than 50! I do know that I have read, here on FS, that when weight is gained like that and in a short amount of time, it's not accurate, in that it's probably water retention from too much salt or absence of proper elimination. DEADPOOL advised me to weigh in everyday, but use the average after 7 days as your true weight. LSG uses the number after it is contestant for 3 days. I am sure you will get more useful advise from others here on FS, but maybe this 2 suggestions might help. One more thing, I started gaining weight or stalled when I wasn't eating enough! That can be a real issue also. Hope you can get those numbers to where you want them. Good luck. :)

I do feel your pain. I am 52. I exercise regularly, cook all my food from scratch (well 95% of it at least), stopped drinking alcohol and the scale refuses to budge. Whatever used to work.....doesn't anymore. And although I weigh almost every day, for the time being I just continue what I do. At least I am nicely toned even when the scale tends to disagree. Hormones have a life of their own, but luckily not forever :)

While I’m not going through menopause I encountered this and was perplexed. As it turned out one of the meds I was on to protect my heart in fact slowed my metabolism down. I asked the doc to reduce the med which he did. Another thing is ur body gets used to a certain food plan or exercise and plateaus and doesn’t lose weight. Change up by increasing your exercise level and maybe increasing your carb intake thus “confusing” your brain. I do low cal for weight loss but my body resists trying to hold onto every bit of carbs it can so I have to confuse my brain periodically. I did the Atkins Diet very successfully for three years and learned that if I went to the Golden Corral on Sunday’s and ate any and everything I wanted for 1 hour and 1 hour only my body would think that the diet was over. ONE hour. It worked!! And was a whole lot of freakin fun too! Lol
