Unusual Frequency's Journal, 13 May 18

My doctor told me that now that I've weaned off the Prednisone, I should see some drastic drops in my weight, so no one panic that I'm starving myself or doing anything else unhealthy to see this sudden decline right at the start. It'll even out shortly. (Probably far too shortly for my tastes).

But about 40-50lbs went on my body in the 4-5 months I was taking the medication, I'm hoping to drop it, or the majority of it, just as quickly. Then I just have to battle the other 100lbs that went on while I couldn't stand up for more than 120 seconds at a time (and also work on regaining that stamina) and was on the other two medications that have the side effect of weight gain (alas, I still have to take those).

Why can't recovery be the same thing as being out of pain? Because the pain went away much faster than all the rest of this crap...

Yeah, prednisone not only causes swelling, it can make you very hungry so you eat more. Being out of pain must be a blessing in itself. Best of luck as you begin your journey.
